Three Generations of Craft.
It all started in 1962, when Gaston Hamel opened Hamel Meats in Cold Lake, Alberta. A small town butcher shop built on trust, quality, and customer service.
What began as a local favourite has grown into something truly world famous but the recipe, the process, and the passion have never changed. Today, the third generation of the Hamel family carries on the tradition, making jerky the way it was always meant to be made: by hand, with care, and with pride.

Hamel's Jerky: Cleared for Launch.
In 2009, Hamel's World Famous Jerky made history. Our jerky was selected to fly aboard the United States Space Shuttle Endeavour on mission STS-127, from July 15 to 31.
